Description: OE support to Projectway and Daimler FP during the BR206 MBSA East London plant upgrade project.

Involvement:
Eli Coetzee Consulting Engineers (Pty) Ltd supported Projectway Solutions and Daimler Factory Planning by fulfilling the civil and structural owners engineer role as well as OE team coordinator/lead during the planning and execution of this mega project. The OE role was mainly to review planning and construction work on the various turn-key contracts and to flag work that did not conform to client requirements and design- and construction standards. Once flagged, matters were either corrected by the turn-key contractors; further clarified, investigated and sometimes acceptance thereof motivated by the OE team; or resolved through direct negotiations between the client and turn-key contractor. The team also performed technical evaluations of claims, and assisted with correspondence with the turn-key contractors on the client’s behalf after investigating and aligning matters internally with the Daimler factory planners and other in-house stakeholders. 

During 2019/2020 the team further became directly involved in the Acoustic foam application project (value R22M) during which the team fulfilled the role of the general planner.
